Our chairs will be sold in a "blind bid" or "sealed bid" auction
May 11 through midnight May 23
All proceeds from the sale of these chairs goes to supporting Arts education and other curriculum initiatives through our fabulous ArtWorks and Longfellow Parent Associations.
Bidders submit bids through an online form without knowledge of the amount bid by other participants. We will offer "benchmark bids" updated ever few days, so you can know where bidding stands for each bench. Submit your highest bid so you don't miss out on your favorite chair! The highest bidder will be notified by May 24th of their winning bid! Benches must be paid for within a week of notification; purchaser is responsible for transport from Longfellow School. *Only adults may bid on auction items; no students may submit bids. |
We also welcome direct donations to our ArtWorks program. Please send checks to school, made out to BSD7.
Thank you for supporting our school!

Kindergarten engineers turned a folding chair into a bookshelf with this STEAM project (science, technology, engineering, art, math). Students penciled their clever geometric ideas onto draft paper. Longfellow parent Jenna Lenz and Nate the local welder forged our ideas into a cozy reading nook! Thank you to MFGR Designs for donating materials to support this Longfellow Artworks community project. Congratulations

Our chair represents the favorite children's story, "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. The background displays a modge podge of pages from children's books with personalized apples painted by Ms. Hood's first-grade class. The Giving tree climbs its way up the chair exhibiting colorful apples hanging from its branches. Congratulations

Artists-in-Residence :: Jim Nicholson Our chair for the online auction really represents Montana. Our students had the fun experience of working with Jim Nicholson, Miss Francis' grandfather! Cowboy Jim explained the overall idea of what we wanted and each student sketched a plan. We then incorporated their plans onto the seat. Students helped paint the Bridger mountains on the back rest, and added horseshoes along on the edges for a final touch. Congratulations

Students in Mrs. Shafer's class created this chair based on a famous Dr. Suess quote: "You can find magic wherever you look, sit back and relax all you need is a book." Inspired by this quote, this chair reflects Dr. Suess and our classes' love for reading. Perfect for a library, child's room, deck, or anywhere around the house, this chair serves as a reminder to any child, no matter their age, that magic truly is found inside every book. Congratulations

"The Wonder Chair" based upon the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio Student researched inspiring quotes and then used these powerful words to decorate our Wonder Chair. The chair comes with the book, 365 Days of Wonder by R. J. Palacio. Hopefully, the winner of this chair may use it for hours of pondering what is truly important in life and will be inspired to live a life of gratitude. Congratulations

This chair is bee themed. It is closing the circle begun at the beginning of the year with our study of bees, the importance of bees to our food chain, connections... And we are culminating with a hive and their individual interpretations of bees in a hive. Cathy Baumbauer created the vision and Andrea Posdon and Ms. Strickland supervised the project. Congratulations
